Alaris IV Pump Upgrades: there has been an upgrade in the Alaris Pump Libraries. There are several changes with the libraries that you will notice.

One of the changes is with the heparin drip concentration and the dosing. There are 3 nomograms to follow for dosing changes dependent on the aPTT results and weight. The heparin drip will now be: Heparin 25,000 units in 250 ml diluent. There is a RED BINDER on the units that thoroughly reviews the new protocols and nomograms. There is a HealthStream program that was also assigned that addresses the changes.

Safe Patient Handling:

• There are some changes in the SPH schedule for August and October.

• Safe Patient Handling Videos are now available on the Intranet. It can be accessed any time for review of equipment being used in the hospital.
