Questions to ponder:
According to the study, of the nurses polled, average time worked in the operating room was 13.5 years, and only four (23.5%) had received training before joining the unit. In your opinion, is there enough education regarding the perioperative phase in nursing school?
Nurses reported being exposed to radiation, particularly fluoroscopy. Phelps Radiology department is very good at checking exposure tags and inspecting lead gowns on a regular basis. What additional measures can be taken to ensure radiation safety in the operating room?
COVID-19 has changed many personal protective equipment training for healthcare workers. Can the perioperative team offer additional safety methods to benefit other units?
